INQ: RVT 2027 - New Manage Property Dialog

Hello everyone,

I'm currently testing the new "Manage Default Propertys dialog" for IFC export in Revit 2027.

In the dialog boxes for IFC Common Property Sets and User-Defined Property Sets, I can't find all the Revit parameters when I try to fill in the “Revit Property” column.

If I change the data type in the User-Defined Property Sets from “Label/Text” to “Length” or something else, no Revit properties are displayed at all.

I have a few more questions, such as: What is the Property Type (Single, Boundet, List, Table) used for?

I can't find anything about this in the Revit Help. Is there a more comprehensive description of the new features, and where can I find it?

I'm using the latest version of the IFC Exporter, 2027.0.1.1.

Thank you for the detailed questions about the new Manage Default Property Sets dialog in Revit 2027.

We reviewed the behavior you described against the current exporter implementation. Here is what we found:

Revit Property column — why not all parameters appear

The parameter picker does not list every Revit parameter. It shows only parameters that are:

• Associated with Revit categories mapped to the applicable IFC entity types for that property
• Compatible with the property's Data Type (storage type and unit/type)
• Available as "filterable" parameters in the Revit API for those categories

Use the Category dropdown and parameter filter (All / Built-in / Extended / Instance / Type) inside the picker to navigate the scoped list.

Empty list after changing Data Type to Length

This is expected when no compatible parameters exist. Label and Text accept string parameters (broad list). Length accepts only length-type Revit parameters (e.g. Length, Distance). If your project has no length-type parameters for the selected categories/entities, the list will be empty.

For User-Defined Property Sets, assign Applicable IFC Entities (e.g. IfcWall) before opening the Revit Property picker — without entities, the picker has nothing to show.

Property Type (Single, Bounded, List, Table)

This controls the IFC property value structure at export time, not which Revit parameters appear:

• Single → one value (IfcPropertySingleValue)
• Bounded → value with bounds (IfcPropertyBoundedValue)
• List → list of values (IfcPropertyListValue)
• Table → tabular values (IfcPropertyTableValue)

For project/shared parameters not available in the GUI picker, the tab-delimited Import/Export workflow remains supported.

If you still see an empty picker after assigning applicable entities and choosing a Data Type that matches parameters in your project, please attach a minimal sample .rvt and the exact property row settings so we can investigate further.
